On 7th May 2016 was special day for Mrs. Fabienne Clauss who had celebrated 20 years of supporting the children of mountain communities mainly from Sherpa community who lost their father while climbing mountains in Nepal. <br>
The foundations are now complete at many of these schools and the walls are going up.Thanks to everyone who supported the earthquake rebuild appeal and made this work possible.

Himalayan Trust Nepal’s Rebuild Earthquake Damage Solukhumbu Schools (REDSS) project covered by Avenues TV (Himal Bishes)
Himalayan Trust Nepal organized ceremony to commemorate 10th Anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s death on 11th January 2018 at Himalayan Trust office, Kathmandu Nepal. The Venerable Ngawang Tenzing Zangpo Rinpoche, abbot of Tengboche Monastery led the function. New Zealand Honorary consul for Nepal Lisa Choegyal, Doctor Mingmar Gyalzen, Ang Tshering Sherpa, Mr. Bhandary, Ang Dorjee Lama, Dr. Kami Temba, Zimba Zangbu, Serab Jangbu, Ang Doli, Fura Yangjin and many others attended the event and many of them spoke on Hillary’s enduring legacy.
On January 11th 2008 Sir Edmund Hillary had passed away at 9 A.M. New Zealand time (2 A.M. Nepalese standard time).
Sir Edmund Hillary contribution in 1960’s building the Khumjung School, Khunde Hospital and Lukla Airport made great changes in the lives of the Sherpa people in the Khumbu region. He will live forever in the hearts and memories of the Sherpa people.
Himalayan Trust Nepal is fulfilling the following positions for “Literacy through Integrated Learning” (LIL) programme under the Quality Education Programme in Solukhumbu supported by New Zealand Aid Programme and Himalayan Trust New Zealand.
Position 1: Education Coordinator – LIL Programme [1] (Field based)
Qualification/Experience: Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.) or related field with at least 3 to 4 years’ experience in managing education programme mainly targeting to the ECED to grade 3 students.
Position 2: Education Field Officer – LIL Programme [3] (Field based)
Qualification/Experience: Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.) or related field with at least 2 years working experience in education sector preferably improving quality in ECED to Grade 3 education.
